Lower Manhattan Sales and Use Tax Exemption
Businesses in Lower Manhattan can get sales tax exemptions on some expenses. Lower Manhattan is the area south of Murray Street, between South and West Streets. The exemption is for improvements to commercial property.
Lease requirements:
- You must make the improvements if you lease property.
- The lease must be for at least 10 years.
- The lease must start between September 1, 2009 and September 1, 2017.
